Plus, Not that i know what accessories support it but, i do believe there are s/pdif compatible pins on the dock connector perhaps totally invalidating? this mod.
And i mean $250 sure they are small wires and points but it's two wires soldered just riddicarous!

This mod really only looks to be useful for an ipod used in a car. It would seem to me that this negates portability and if you want clean sound at home get a good? sound card and a good amplifier. keep it digital all the way to the amp and use the DAC in your home stereo amplifier which if it is worth it's salt should be superior to any ipod DAC.
